Part 6 is the last section of the listening exam. At CLB 10, you need 6/6 — a perfect close. This is the moment where consistency matters most. You've scored near-perfect on Parts 1–5; don't let fatigue cost you marks at the finish line.
Real-Time Completion + Verification
At CLB 10, Part 6 execution:
1. Pre-scan summary + blanks + dropdown options (20 seconds) 2. During audio: Fill all 6 blanks in real time as you follow along 3. After audio: Verify using the 4-point check (coherence, attribution, logic, grammar) 4. Remaining time: Relax — you're done with the listening exam
The 180-second review is generous. You should only need 60–90 seconds for verification, meaning you finish the exam calm and confident.
Fatigue Management
After ~45 minutes of concentrated listening, fatigue is real. Counter it:
- Physical: Sit up straight, take a deep breath before Part 6 starts - Mental: Remind yourself "6 blanks, 3 minutes, I've done this before" - Strategic: Use the pre-scan to re-engage your brain with fresh text
Do NOT rush because you're tired. The 3-minute review time is your safety net — use it. Rushing through Part 6 is the #1 way CLB 10 candidates lose it to CLB 9.
