Part 3 at CLB 10
Part 3 is your second guaranteed perfect (after Part 2). The information is explicit and factual โ no inference, no attitude detection. Every answer is directly stated in the conversation.
At CLB 10, you should get 6/6 with high confidence โ no uncertain answers.
The Q-Template Method
Before audio plays:
1. Preview all 6 questions 2. On your scratch paper, write: "1: ___ 2: ___ 3: ___ 4: ___ 5: ___ 6: ___" 3. Next to each number, write a 1-word cue: "1:price 2:time 3:where 4:req 5:diff 6:why"
As you listen, fill in each slot when you hear the relevant information. After the audio, your answer sheet is basically pre-written.
This method works because: It converts passive listening into active, targeted data collection.
Double-Detail Capture
CLB 10 accuracy means catching details that modify other details:
- Not just "Tuesday" but "first and third Tuesday of each month" - Not just "$50" but "$50 per person, minimum 4 people" - Not just "downtown" but "new downtown location, not the old one"
Practice tip: When reviewing Part 3 answers in practice, check if you captured the FULL detail or just the headline. CLB 10 questions specifically target the modifiers and conditions that CLB 8-9 scorers overlook.
