What Is Part 8?
Part 8 shows you an unusual or unexpected image โ something out of the ordinary happening in a normal setting (a dog driving a car, snow in summer, an elephant in a kitchen). You have 30 seconds prep and 60 seconds to describe and explain the unusual situation.
This is the FINAL speaking task. End strong. The evaluator remembers the last impression you make.
The 'See It, Say It, Speculate' Framework
See It (15 seconds): Describe what's unusual. "This is a truly unusual scene. The image shows [normal setting] where, surprisingly, [unusual element] can be seen."
Say It (25 seconds): Elaborate on the details. "What makes this particularly striking is [detail 1]. I also notice [detail 2], which makes the situation even more peculiar."
Speculate (20 seconds): Explain why/how this might have happened. "I can only imagine that this happened because [possible explanation]. Perhaps [another theory]. Whatever the reason, it's certainly an extraordinary sight."
This framework ensures you describe the scene AND add creative speculation โ both tested at CLB 7.

End the Exam Strong
Part 8 is your final impression. Make it count:
- Speak with energy โ don't let fatigue show - Show creativity โ unusual scenes invite creative descriptions - Use humor if natural โ "Honestly, if I saw this in real life, I wouldn't believe my eyes!" A light touch shows confidence. - Finish with a clear closing โ "All in all, this is one of the most unusual scenes I could imagine, and I'd love to know the real story behind it."
A strong Part 8 finish leaves the evaluator with a positive final impression, which can subtly influence the holistic assessment.
