How many weeks should I prepare for CELPIP?

Updated: 2026-04-03

Typical timeline

Most candidates need 4 to 10 weeks, depending on baseline level and target. If your baseline is near target, 4 to 6 weeks of focused preparation can be enough. For larger jumps, 8 to 10 weeks is more realistic.

Plan by target

For CLB 7, consistent daily practice with one full mock per week is usually enough. For CLB 8-9, add deeper error tracking and section-specific drills. For CLB 10+, emphasize consistency under time pressure.

Most common mistake

Candidates over-practice easy sections and ignore weak modules. Your plan should over-allocate time to the section that is holding your total profile back.
